Finally Here!

It's been a long wait, but I'm finally here! So far, Dublin is absolutely amazing. The row-home-like houses are way cute, and the doors are small. The traffic here isn't bad, and it literally like a mini-Philadelphia (like old city) except much cleaner.
My roommates, Kate, Caroline, Emma, Matt and Andy, are very cool. Probably the best roommates I could have asked for in this foreign country. The apartment is VERY nice. a 3-story stone house, with a cute backyard (looks like the secret garden). I have a single, and although it's small, it's nice having my own space. The house has a kitchen, fully equipped, even with a coffee maker (THANK GOD..) It has a cute fireplace as well. It's a very homey place, and super close to Temple Bar (the young peoples' hangout). It's a strip of pubs and clubs, and although I haven't been there yet, I'm sure I'll leave a dent by May.
Last night, we went to Grafton St. which has a long strip of shops, pubs, and restaurants. The roomies got their phones, and we went to Porterhouse. It was a nice pub, but it was PACKED. We went around 6:30pm, and we couldn't get a table for food. Apparently the Irish eat really early and then drink all night. So that might take some getting used to. (The eating-early part HAHA) But I had my first Jameson and Coke there, and it was pretty good. Drinks are on the expensive side though. The cheap route is definitely beer. The cool thing about the Porterhouse, though was their home made brews. They were mostly dark beers, and I just tried some of my roommates' beers.
Next we went to a place called Sheehan's. MUST SMALLER. And it was a bit of an older crowd. But at least we could get food (He had to check if the kitchen was still open, haha). I ordered the fish and chips- really good, and Smithwick's= my new favorite beer.
I'm having a great time so far, and classes start Monday! The registration process for classes has been quite confusing, but we have a lot of support here, from two women named Frieda and Enda.

Good times.
Until Next Time, Love
